Danville, IL… Rep. Mike Marron (R-Fithian) released the following statement on the new information released from the ongoing federal corruption investigations:
“This watershed moment has been a long time coming in the Illinois House, and I am calling on Governor Pritzker to demand accountability from the Democratic Party,” said Rep. Marron.
Rep. Marron said, “We need to hit the reset button on this draconian system of corruption and clean up the General Assembly. Now is the time to come together in a bi-partisan way implementing a new system with a collaborative approach to fix the disastrous finances, ethics and the fallout from COVID-19.”
The announcement against ComEd and “Public Official A” and the ongoing investigation of Cook County Property tax corruption are another sad commentary on the state of our state. The deep federal investigations into the highest members of the Democratic Party and their abuse of the Cook County property tax system is finally coming to light.
“The allegations presented today are troubling and downright depressing. Speaker Madigan needs to address this issue with the people of this state, and if the allegations are true, he needs to resign immediately,” said Rep. Marron.
Rep. Marron said, “I came to Springfield to bring the honest, hard-working perspective of the 104th District to the heart of the Illinois government, and I have been a vocal advocate protecting the rights and integrity of our district and the people that call Illinois home. It is time for my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to join me in standing up for these hardworking Illinoisans and say enough is enough!”
