Rep. Marron Enters Third Term As State Representative-104th District

SPRINGFIELD… State Representative Mike Marron (R-Fithian) enters his third term today as State Representative for the 104th District. Today commences the 102nd Illinois General Assembly. Rep. Marron released the following statement:

“As always, I am honored and humbled to serve as your State Representative. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our great community. Today marks a new era with long time Speaker, Mike Madigan, out of the picture. Time will tell the true intentions of electing a new Democratic Speaker as a continuation of Madigan’s corruption or actually a new movement to come together as colleagues solving the massive problems brought on by his four-decade long reign of our state.

Today, I joined my House Republican colleagues voting in favor of Leader Jim Durkin as Speaker of the House. Unfortunately, we did not have enough votes in favor, but I am hopeful for much needed change in the 102nd General Assembly with a new Speaker. We have so much work to accomplish for the people of this state and an incredibly tough budget hole to fill for the next several years. To say these are challenging times ahead is an understatement. I hope we finally put an end to the terrible legislative practices of the past that brought us nothing but corruption and fiscal disasters.

The people of Illinois deserve so much better and we need to work together to do that. As I did two and half years ago, I promise to fight for the 104th District every single day reporting to you the honest truth of what is happening in Springfield. Thank you, and God Bless.”
